I came across this image this morning. It’s a sign posted on the hiking trail near the area of Morgan Hill that was burned in 2013. The sign asks visitors to place their device in the bracket mounted on the sign and take a photo of the area, then post that image to their preferred image sharing service along with a hashtag. The images are collected and sorted chronologically then shared on the Monitor Change website. Several other signs located along the trail have similar hashtags, each offering a different perspective of the damage.
What a cool way to crowd-source some research! For more information on the project, visit Nerds for Nature.
